We believe that spirtiuality is active in life, if we listen for it and are open to it. We believe that there is "that of God" in everyone. We have no common creed. For us the "divine" has a variety of names-God, the Spirit, the Light. Though we have diverse backgrounds we share a common commitment to Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality and Stewardship. We believe that we should express our spiritual commitment in being active members of the community, in whatever way we feel individually led to do.
Meeting for Worship is a special time in which we are joined in the silent waiting upon God and openness to Spirit that is known to Friends as centering down. We sit expectantly waiting for messages to inform and guide our lives. Some of us may be led to speak. Such a shared message is usually brief, phrased simply, listened to by others with respect and followed by renewed silence. A specific message is not the basis of conversation in Meeting for Worship but may form the "seed" of other messages that follow.
